Dr. Werner Oberholzer, MBChB, DFM, CCFP, CCFP (COE), CCFP (EM), CCPE, has served as Deputy Registrar of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan since 2018. With extensive experience in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Care of the Elderly, he provides medical leadership and regulatory oversight grounded in clinical expertise.
Dr. Oberholzer oversees the Quality of Care Department and leads the College’s Quality Assurance initiatives, ensuring high standards of professional conduct and patient safety across the province.
He has a growing interest in the role of artificial intelligence in medical regulation and healthcare delivery, having completed multiple educational programs in this area. Dr. Oberholzer also contributes to national policy development through his involvement in committees of the Federation of Medical Regulatory Authorities of Canada (FMRAC).
He runs marathons and participates in triathlons when not involved in family activities.
